Redefining the Tuff Tray for Confident Sensory Play

We’re Kamilla and Daniel, the husband-and-wife team that started Learning Through PLAYtrays.

Our story didn’t begin with a business plan… it started as a simple frustration inside a classroom.

IDEA

Industrial utility trays rebranded for kids? We knew children deserved better. So we asked ourselves: why hasn’t anyone designed a Tuff Tray specifically for children?
2024

INNOVATION

Engineered our own custom mold. Designed exclusively for sensory play. Setting a new standard for Tuff Tray quality. Made from durable, BPA-free PE and PP, our trays are food contact compliant for worry-free sensory play.
February 2024

LAUNCH

We launched as a self-funded small family business and officially entered the U.S. market. On February 14th, 2024, our first PLAYtray found its home.

Meet Kamilla: Teaching Across Continents

The Big Question: What connects every child, everywhere?

The Answer: SENSORY PLAY

Play speaks every language.

After teaching internationally in China and Vietnam, this question kept returning. What do kids have in common?

No matter the curriculum, or culture, children learn through their senses.
Children explore by touching, pouring, building, mixing, and moving. Hands-on discovery is universal.

Learning Through PLAYtrays® was created from this experience.

While teaching abroad in Vietnam, after yet another tuff tray failed in the classroom, I finally turned to Daniel and asked:

“Could you make me a better tray?”

Daniel, with over 20 years in manufacturing and product design, said yes and asked a question that changed everything:

“What if we made a sensory textured tray?”

That final question inspired everything we do today.
